The event indices we track for a stream, maintained whenever a block is processed (executed or merely preprocessed).

Fields

first_index: u32

The lowest event index still guaranteed to be readable (if it exists): the index of the first event published to this stream since the most recent checkpoint. Earlier events may have been pruned by a checkpoint and are not available to nodes that bootstrapped from it. When there are no events yet, this equals next_index.

next_index: u32

The next event index we expect to see, i.e. the lowest for which no event is known yet. May be ahead of the last executed block on sparse chains.
